How can I become an effective leader?

The leader would need to have a group; to lead... Isnt it?

Now, every group member would have their strengths and weaknesses. The role of a leader is to recognize the strengths of the group members and support them in them & also to recognize each ones weaknesses and support them to come out of it. That is the role of an effective leader.

Qualities of a good leader:

A leader is somebody who would need to demonstrate the qualities that he wants to enhance in the group members and that demonstration happens in three sections:

  • Manasa - Being
  • Vacha - Speaking
  • Karmana - Doing

A leader is somebody, who by their own example becomes a yardstick, an idol. Someone whom you want to be like. You already know what those qualities are. The leader will have to be non-judgemental. Leaders will have to be open in their communication. The Leader will have to be able to accommodate everybodys weaknesses. A Leader will have to lead by example.

Sets an example:

A leader sets an example for others to follow. He doesn't only give commands. He demonstrates how to do things to others by first performing them. Instead of creating followers, a smart leader generates leaders. He looks out for the people he is leading. He distributes responsibility.

Accepting challenges:

When there are obstacles to overcome, an effective leader is motivated. A leader is alert in emergency situations. Instead of being agitated, he views difficulties as possibilities.

Long-Term viewpoint:

A true leader has both a short-term plan to work toward the long-term vision.  He is willing to put the demands of the company and the nation ahead of his own. We require that attitude of having an expanded vision.

Synchronizes the heart and the mind:

A successful leader keeps a balance by paying attention to both the heart and the mind. He pays attention to his brain when he needs to focus on his work. He pays attention to his heart in other aspects of his life. A true leader strikes a balance between idealism and pragmatism, long-term objectives, and urgent necessities. A leader must guide everyone and treat everyone fairly.

A good leader doesn't show off his leadership qualities. He merges with everyone else. He doesn't believe that he is superior to other people. A leader cannot be both general and particular. The leader needs to strike a balance between providing individualized care for each person and having a broad vision for the organization, community, or nation he leads.

Effective leadership skills:

One of the most useful traits you can have in life and business is effective leadership. The art of leading involves inspiring, directing, and encouraging a group of individuals to function effortlessly as a team. An effective leader knows how to do the task in the best possible manner each and every time, whether they are sitting in a meeting room or assigning tasks to an employee's desk. Leadership abilities can significantly progress people's personal and professional life if they are diligently pursued and put into practice.

Change me into we:

Connecting with them and becoming aware of their needs is the best method to inspire others. Every person has unique aspirations, therefore what inspires one person may have the opposite effect on another. The reason why people have faith in and confidence in their leaders is that they are aware of their commitment to serving them.
